PostSubject: Rain rain go away   Rain rain go away EmptySat Nov 14, 2015 3:20 pm

Thought i'd brave the elements today and give the canal another go
after a quick look at the weather forcast it was showing rain for
around 12:00am and windy all day. Sad

I got their around 10:00am with my lure bag full hope's were high  Very Happy

A long the second stretch I had 2 monster perch follow my plug
all the way in they were easy over 2lb but that was the closes
I came to catching anything. fish fish

The rain did come bang on time so I headed off home
no fish and no plugs lost so in a way happy days Very Happy

This is what I use when light lure fishing for pike, perch and doing abit of lrf

A 7ft ugly stik gx2 with a abu garica 174 swi cardinal reel loaded with 30lb braid
nice and light yet strong and salt water resistant
For those sea sessions  Very Happy

All canals full of shopping trolleys etc bikes lol you only have to look when boats traffic is at it minimal in the depths of winter when there gin clear .. I don't lure Fish much Stevo much prefer live baiting it's heart stopping lol love it .. Try fishing a sluggo with a weedless hook . You can fish them anywhere and very rarely get snagged up .. Bass love them over the roughest of ground . And I recon pike will nail them to owdddd

Unlucky on the Perch Steve.

My first ever fish was a Perch and have loved them ever since. I really must get licences for me and Rhys next year. Youve inspired me!
