Speed fishing

A mate of mine is camping at Pwllheli and just happens to have his boat with him so he phones me to ask if i fancy fishing as he's bought a rod,reel and a few bits and bobs,also said its not a fishing boat but it will do the job,anyway I arrived at the marina to see this

We drifted around and found a few macky and a few grey gurnard

Even the macky were hard work and I had to slow this guy down and bring him around to my styl of fishing which is not blast around then drift then blast a bit more but it's hard once you get out there with no marks in the plotter it's a big pond
So I talked him into anchoring up for half hour in a random spot that I fancied and we ended up staying there all day,the macky were thick on the ground and we used some of them for burley and kept the fish coming all afternoon with lots of dabs,whiting,dogs,scad and 5-6 Huss and ofcorse lots and lots of macky only small but at one point for about 30 mins we couldn't touch bottom







It was a great day out and it didn't take us long to get back to the marina and we didn't make much mess on the boat carpet once we got back in the boat park something caught my eye

I thought quadski was the polish guy who lived at the end of our street

Great report and a cracking set of pictures well done. It just shows you don't need a charter boat to catch fish. Maybe a bit of luck hitting on the right spot.

We're having blue carpets though
