Project Notbad 1. Update 19 of Building A Boat In The Lounge
An afternoon warming nicely by the fire watching people fish on telly seemed quite appealing today.
The model of my real boat is coming along ( slowly) next up for the hull will be adding the side keels but as this would have meant working outside cutting and sanding the plastic I turned my attention to the trailer instead.
I've been collecting bits and bobs including Meccano brackets ready to start.
The central spar of the real trailer is galvanised box section, but box section would make it difficult to hide some of the model trailer's nuts and bolts so I've opted for using U- channel aluminium, that way I can hide some nuts and once the main construction is done I'll complete the box with an aluminium strip.
I'd been pondering how to build the jockey wheel
Fleabay provided the answer with the nose wheel off a radio control plane giving the swivel action and a more or less to scale rubber tyre, a little adaptation added the clamp and winding handle
Needs a bit of smoothing but nearly there with this bit!
