Which team could catch the most weight of fish
He was Pike fishing and I was heading to Talacre
Although a blank at Talacre is virtually impossible the chances were that if Steve or Cole hit just one single fish myself and Hari would potentially have a problem
Thankfully it wasn't a problem
(sorry Steve sorry Cole)
My first cast and I had a snap off, I hadn't noticed the loop of line that had caught up below my spool
I quickly set up another rig loaded with sticky old Lug and it was a fish a cast for my first three attempts
Only 200g but a start
2nd fish
A little better at 300g
3rd fish
100g
(just)
Hari's turn
A double
350g together
Probably not the most accurate scales in the world but they suited the purpose for the day
Hari was in again with a fish of 250g and my lost rig also
Then another for me at 200g
A single for Haz of 200g
Followed by another brace weighing 350g on his last cast
A surprise fish for me as I reeled in ready to pack away at 800g
Total weight of the 11 Dabs was 2750g or 6lb.1oz (I think
)
Wasn't the best of tides for Talacre but as we know there's never a dull session there either
