got to kinmel bay for 7-00am this morning to pump a few worm and fish 1 down 2 up. the surf was just right for a few bass
kinmel low tide 20140710
I waded across the gully to the sand bank and cast about 50 yards into the surf and made my way back across and had a bite as soon as I put the rod in the sand spike. it felt like a really good fish and when I got it in I had a double of bass. both fish around the 2 lb mark so I kept 1 and sent the other on its way to grow on a bit. rebaited and crossed the gully again this time I stayed on the sand bank  put the spike in and hung the bucket of worms  on it and held the rod with the water still about a foot deep. I had another good bite and a bass around the 4lb mark and started to wade back to the shore with the fish under one arm and the rod spike and bucket in the other half way across the fish got free and the hook line snapped as it dropped back in the water so no photo to back me up. by this time I decided to stay on the shore and fish the gully and managed to land a 4th bass of 3lb which was deep hooked so that came home with the first one

I stopped a bit longer and made my way back to the car once the back gully started to fill.
really great few hours and made my day just a pity I didn't get a photo of the one that got away it was massive cheers cheers Very Happy sunny fish fish fishing

Don't worry you won't be needing one on your 2 inch whiting!

One of those things pictured in Micks last report
