You really do have to take your hat off to the RNLI their extremely brave if not a little mad which possibly helps in some situations.
There's a press cutting in the pub up here of the Wick lifeboat that went out and rescued a ship in trouble during a force 8 storm !
Not really sure how big a force 8 is but it dont sound good !
