20mph North Westerlies are the stuff of legend!!!!!
The experts would tell you that your chances of catching a decent fish from the shore locally are greatly increased.

With such a forecast, I joined The Maestro, Notbad and Sinbad at Kinmel Bay to test the theory.

6oz grippers were holding steady in the lively surf. No problems with weed to speak off.

Mehmet was first to register a bite. A beautifully marked Plaice made it a first for him.

Notbad was next in.

Todays target species put a smile of his face.

No monster but a Bass nonetheless!!!!

With a great start to the session and the tide now flooding in, it came as a surprise that we saw no more action.

It was a small tide today but despite that, the water flew in at an incredible pace.

Again, be warned that you can easily get cut off at this venue.

Many thanks for the NW surf forecast tip-off Mike, I wasn't going to bother on Sunday until then,
I'm sure glad I listened.

M'fish might be tiny, but m'first silver of the year sure outweighs a hundred winter rockling on grin factor.

You'd just said, "It's bass time" and a minute later it was!

It was a good clear bite for its size, can't wait to meet it again in 6lbs time!
Taken on a size 2, pulley rig with about a 3 foot snood, 7 oz lead and uber fresh lug, from shallow water not that far out.

Very sound words from you on the tide speed warning too; several pairs of eyes, 360degree awareness, knowing the tide times, being conscious of just how deep the gully behind you is, travelling light and planning the escape route all highly recommended.

thats why i wear sandals. they empty themselves. and the water as it comes over the sand is surprisingly warm until it gets to about a foot deep
