Our first match of the year was at North Shore, we thought it would be hard work finding the in-size whiting, but we weren`t expecting the dogs to still be there.
21 anglers fished with 16 weighing in, top bag was 3 dogs and 4 decent whiting, I scraped in 8th with just one dog. I must have had 40 odd whiting, but the magic 27 cms. eluded me, I even had 4 on 3 hooks on one cast, with 2 of the greedy little sods neatly lip hooked on one hook.
There were plenty of dabs caught as well as about a dozen dogs and a few whiting up to 35 cms. no in size codling though, just a couple I heard of around the 30 cms. mark.
