Two of us set off last night for the humber to see if Mr cod has arrived yet got to stallingborough on the south bank just as it started to flood set up & from the off it was whitings & flatties all night so a busy session.Alas no cod to be seen there are odd good cod coming out but the main run doesn't seem to have arrived yet it didn't seem to matter what went on the hook for bait the fish were on it quickly.It also gave me chance to try out my new reel an avet sx5.3.1-mc what a revelation that was it does just what they claim stops after every cast no overruns or birdies brilliant bit of kit it is & built like a flippin tank thats me converted expensive but sheer quality as it started to flood got set up & from the off it was flounder & whitings all through the night with a few dabs thrown in for good Measure
