A shore caught Tope ?


Didn't hold out much hope of the rain stopping but then a couple of hours or so before High it did and I landed up in West Pensarn, chancing upon Andy Lee, Longranger, Danshrekman and a few others. In fact there were quite a few rods out up and down the beach.











A Whiting and a flattie for Danshrekman I think it was,
otherwise the Weevers were out in force especially so between the pipes







but as the sun dropped it was looking like good conversation and camera practice was all that was happening,



then just as I was leaving Andy pulled this out...

a group discussion over baby Smoothie or Tope followed but this cutie has teeth so I'm voting for the holy grail of a shore caught Tope












I blanked but I'm glad I'm was there!

Hay up notbad was there my self fished bad tonight , my mate had a baby Smooth hound ,that defo looks like. Baby Tope . Thought there would have been a bass our two out today fished the same spot I fished two weeks ago where I had four bass,not a single thing tonight 4 me my mate ad 7 weavers and logger had 2

Well done on the tiny Tope I bet that was a surprise !
It sounds like half the forum was there last night, as Tim said I had just the two Weavers, Graham had seven and Dave aka GT had the best fish a small Smoothie.
When the rain and wind finally left us and ganged up over not so sunny Rhyl it turned out quite a nice evening, pity there wernt a few Bass about.

eddythefly and myself were down the far end I blanked but eddythefly had A weaver had A quick chat with some of the others seems like it was A good turn out for sunny rhyl well done the lads who had fish

The Weavers must have been hungry though as my two took this bait

A lug and crab cocktail on a 2/0 pennal, the bait was bigger than the fish !

That was a quite remarkable shoaling of Sunny Rhyl members down Pensarn last night
- or maybe it just pays tribute to the success of this forum in attracting those who fish locally
( If Carlsberg did fishing sites.... )

Nice to meet you notbad and thanks for putting the piccy on, the weather was ok in the end but the sea flattenen off and the weavers came out to play between us we had 12 and 2 whiting(in the piccy Dead Man Fishing) its a hard life being a teenager these days
