specifically designed for extreme risk conditions. These are offshore areas such as deep sea charter boat fishing where sudden weather changes and strong tides occur.
You will be four times safer wearing a Survivor life suit which has over 300 newtons of buoyancy, which is at least four times more buoyant than a normal flotation suit. These suits use a combination of closed cellular flotation foam and inflatable stole to provide buoyancy, which makes them the only true combination flotation suits and lifesuits in the world.
Permanent buoyancy from the closed cellular foam is 65/95 newtons, depending on size, which is subtantially above the E.C. minimum requirement. When this is allied to the 250 newtons of buoyancy from a fully inflated stole, the total is at least 300 newtons, four times the buoyancy of most flotation suits. Survivor suits can be used in rough conditions offshore and by non swimmers, unlike normal flotation suits which are recommended for inshore use only. Sundridge Survivor suits combine 'Self Righting' and 'Freeboard' which means that in less than 5 seconds you float in the face up position,with head supported high above the water and mouth 8cm to 18cm above the surface. With a specially made heli lifting belt, Survivor Suits are equipped for air/sea rescue. The permanent buoyancy foam ensures that you float even if you choose not to use the inflatable stole, but the suit converts to over 300 newtons, with inflation normally taking less than 20 seconds. The inflation stole is built into the garment so you don't know it's there until you need it.
