Going to be working every weekend now for the next month so when i got my day pass of the bread knife, i was going to make the most of it.First plan was to go talacre low and try splash for the first time at high but the strong winds put a stop to that. Plan b mostyn with recent reports of codling my hopes where high. Joining me at mostyn was dave and his lad jack and grayam. It was packed they must have all had the same idea lol , spoke to some lads said they had come from old colwyn and it was well rough. My mission one rod two hook rig one up one down size ones loaded with frozen blacks and tipped with a good helping of mussel.
Cut a long story short it fished realy poor with just two nice sized dabs for me ,one to dave his lad blanked, three nice sized dab to graham useing two rods ,Not much to show for four solid hours of fishing. No codling but strangest of all no whiting, dont think we have had that much rain in the week with them storms.Got to use my brand new sparkley fishing box of my bread knife. was going to fish towards the white ship for high , but opted for connahs quay for a bit of flounder bashing.Got my self nice and comfy ,and put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea as i waited for the tide to stop pulling a bit.there was plenty lads fishing towards the bottom end ,who had fished last night as well and said they had eight flounder between them last night, looked good.same rigs i used at mostyn using one rod and opted for double patting because you dont get much time on this venue before it comes un fishabble.bait lug and bluey
dabs from mostyn
Had two nice flounder at connahs
roll on a months time i will be chomping at the bit till next time tight lines
