| We fished the first leg of the C.B.V.S.A.C. Winter league at Tan-lan last night. The fishing was abysmal, with 19 anglers fishing 4 hours over low water, and only 8 rockling weighed in! On the other hand, from a personal point of view it was a triumph. I`d decided to fish small hooks alongside a rock groyne with rockling the target, and it worked. I only had two, but they were enough to win the match, and with my name coming out of the draw for the ` golden card` pool which had rolled over since June,I came home with £133. Who ever said rockling weren`t worth catching

| Yes, it`s no good fishing for codling and whiting when there aren`t any. You can only catch what`s in front of you. |
