Untill the last year or so, all my fishing was done around the Porthmadog area mate, give Porthmadog a miss, drive to Borth y Gest and fish off the old machine gun turret (nice n flat, and not to far walking from the motor), failing that, drive for another 15 minutes and fish Criccieth, that beach is at its best in the dark (keep the castle on your left).

Good luck, maybe give me a pm when your planing going and I'll tag along !

Hi.
Where do you live gaz?

There's plenty of good beach fishing to be had this time of year all along the North Wales coast.
You may be driving past a good number of decent spots to reach Porthmadog.

Welcome to the site by the way Smile

Hi Gaz, welcome in!

As Mike says, you are passing some excellent fishing to travel to Porthmadog.

There are still Bass around on the beaches, as well as Codling to 3lb if the conditions are right. Loads of Whiting and Dogs too.

Alternatively, you could head to the Mersey where there are loads of Thornbacks being caught at places like Perch Rock and the Cod numbers are increasing daily.

Have a look at some reports for ideas of venues. If you need any help, ask away as there is loads of knowledge held between the members on here and we are all happy to share.
