The Rhyl Triangle Octstart001

Tonight I just had time to join the gulls playing coconut shy at Splash'

Last weekend I noticed an area by the main groyne which was holding water over Low
and fancied putting a bait over it.

Sometime sea angler "Phil" passed by and told me of a little known sporting challenge,
invented by the likes of Messrs Lever and Overthrow,

-taking aim from in front of the pub that used to stand here
and casting a lead 140 yards through the middle of the triangle!

Bloody 'ell just being able to reach it would be a start!

The Rhyl Triangle Octstart002

No interest, except crabs, in the conditioned lug on my one-up one-down size ones until finally I felt resistance on the last retrieve as a weever was plucked from its burrow

The Rhyl Triangle Octstart005

-come on Phil, get that tackle out of the loft and step up to the oche!

Great report Paul.
That triangle is well out of my range too.

I've seen a few get beyond it though!

The triangle sounds like a fun challenge for the Monday lunch club.

Soon to be reformed no doubt.

According to my tape it is 83 metres from the path, was the old pub nearer to it ? Wink

-interesting, I paced the groyne at an estmated 100 yards from the base of the rocks
Can't exactly recall exactly how far back the old pub stood, but similar I think to the position of the flats now, I think 140 yards was the distance from the guest beer pump Wink
