| We fished a club match at Barkby beach last night over low water, with 21 anglers taking part and 16 weighing in. Bags comprising mainly of dabs and rockling with a couple of flounders and one codling weighed in. I was the jammy sod who found this 3lb 15 oz. which with a dab and a whiting left me well in the lead at the end. Here`s headwyn with a treble header of dabs and this little fella was washed up on the beach, we think it may be a shad , the scales seemed a bit too big for a herring |

| Great report Terry. Well done on a cracking fish and a well deserved victory. I can't wait to hear what weight 'The Journal' give you for the Codling Did Kev weigh the Herring in? Just goes to show that there are some decent fish out there. Great pictures too! |

| Great report Terry and super pictures. Well done headwyn on the treble. Question for you both ?? Is the way to the beach the last turn on the left as you head out towards the Flint direction, and before you bear right and go over the Railway bridge. Once again well done gents.. |

Yes that`s right, go past Pontins and turn right at the end, or go down to the Nova and turn right there, you`ll end up in the same place. It fishes better at low water because as the tide floods past the rock groynes the fish seem to stay out beyond them. |

I would avoid it in the summer months as there are lots of boaters and jetskis using the slipway and the place will be heaving! |
