| Well, I've just left The Maestro and Notbad at Splash Point. Having picked up some rigs and fresh bait from Wormy they are heading West! Not sure if they mean The Hydro or maybe beyond!
Pull up a chair, get a spare bottle of Frosty jack ready and stand by for the 2nd official Sunnyrhyl Castwatch Live event!!!!!!!
Updates will appear in this thread throughout the night.................................................... |

| Update - 2051hrs
Early indications are that they have gone way past The Hydro! Infact, faint signals coming across the airwaves have confirmed that tonight's chosen venue is......................
Holyhead Breakwater!!!!!!!!!!
The Maestro and notbad are situated right on the end by the Lighthouse. Casting straight out from the end.
Notbad has got 2 rods out. A Wormy Pully rig on one and a Jensen Pully Wishbone on the other.
So just to add that extra bit of excitement, it's a straight head to head between 2 of North Wales's finest rig suppliers!!!!!
The Maestro is using his usual homemade 2 hook bomber rigs.
It's Wormy supplied Fresh Lug allround at the moment.
Another 2 fishing the end with several more along the lengh of the Breaky. The famous Green Light mark was occupied.
Low water has just gone and the wind and rain on arrival an hour ago has now cleared. |

| Update - 2111hrs No fish yet! Into the 3rd cast apiece. Honours are even between both fishermen and rigs. Still persevering with the Fresh Lug. To set the scene, I just thought I would add this image of Headwyn fishing the same spot last year.... |

| Seems that way:) Maybe that explains the Green Light anglers? Update - 2130hrs Still no fish for Notbad and The Maestro. A bit of Mackerel tip has been added to all rigs. The only excitement so far is seeing the big Cat just arriving back from Dublin and a ferry just on its way back. The other 2 fishing the top have been there from 4pm. Reports of a few Whiting and Small Codling being landed on the Ebb. A Seal was in attendance taking a few fish. Plenty of time yet |

| Update - 2201hrs
A few snags close in has resulted in a couple of lost rigs.
Replaced and this time a bit of Squid Tip added!
Will the 60 mile round trip be worth it? Will the sure fire fish machine that is The Breaky live up to expectations??
More to follow................. |

| At the moment my decision to stay in the warm, chat to the mother in law whilst watching the usual bank holiday repeats on the TV is looking like the right one.
(Watched the Sound of Music earlier ... 30+ years now of BBC showing it at easter?) |

| Sky looked a bit ominous as we crossed the island, but when the wind and rain dropped quite suddenly it was a pleasant evening.
3 hooks went awol at the eye knot on the distance rod ( and I only tied two of those on!)
Stuck with it at the end, fresh lug tipped variously with with squid / mack, left 3 hours before high with not a bite detected between us, on the drive back it seemed the hotspot was inside & a third of the way from the green light to the end.
As we left the rain started up again so timing was right at least.
Failed miserably to work out how to text pics in on Maestro's phone, we're going to have to apply for an Arts Council grant to sort the technology! |

As always, it was just like being there........albeit , whilst sat infront of the fire with a beer in hand Regarding The maestro's phone. Obviously, with the economic downturn, Denbighshire Council are squeezing budgets. Castwatch funding has not escaped the cuts. I'm sure there's someone out there willing to donate an old PAYG camera phone for the use of Castwatch operatives. |
