| Fantastic Paul!!!!!! Unless i'm mistaken, that's the best fish I've seen from the beach in Rhyl this Winter....By a long way! That Gully will be featured in Sea Angler before the years out!!!!!!! Did you get a weight on the fish? My report, whilst quite prophetic, is pretty redundant now, but I'll include it anyway............ Venue - Notbad Gully, Rhyl Tide - Low Time - Dusk Bait - Frozen Lug, Fresh Lug, Frozen Razer
The Maestro came bearing gifts of Fresh Lug, Notbad donated some Frozen Razer. All I could muster was words of encouragement and some re-frozen Lug.
The Notbad Gully was to decide if we were wise men tonight or not!
I had no luck on the frozen. A cast with the Fresh had similar results. Next up, I had high hopes for the Razer, but my rig and leader disappeared into the Gully of Hope without my mainline attatched!
That was enough for me!
I left the others to cast on into darkness!
Happy Days!!! |

[/b] When I picked it up I thought about 4lb
My Morrisons digital scales twice made it a slightly disappointing 2lb 15 oz
Maestro's spring balance had it as over one and a half kilos ( over 3lb)
Either way we are in codling territory rather than "cod" though it's another pb for me and you can bet it will be bigger by the time I get into work on Monday.
Small by Sea Angler mag standards but whatever the weight it will keep me going until the bass arrive - which I prefer to measure for length rather than weigh. |

| Superb fish Paul, the one on my avatar came out this time last year from Barkby at low water as well. You really are getting into the specimens this month! |
