What to do if a Mountain Lion is Stalking You.
Stop running / don't run away.
Appear larger than you are.
Don't crouch down.
Make eye contact.
Speak firmly and calmly.
Throw things.
Fight if there is an attack.

A fairly well known survival tip

If you are with a group of mates and you do decide to run ...

you don't need to outrun the wild animal ...

you just need to be able to outrun one of your mates rolling laugh
