well this year the quest for a codling took us a bit further north up to teeside and a meet with some of the lad's from british sea anglers. arrived just after dinner and met with the lad's at b&q in grangetown after a tea and burger we headed to seaham south pier.
not to confident of any fish in the day light we gave it a few hour's anyhow.
after a few hour's we decided to head for some scram then to hendon. we left just as it was going dark and left gazwill and his mate behind. (nice to meet you).
after some food (kebab) we headed down to heandon for a new type of fishing for me and deg's. SAS fishing.
over a railway under a fence then over some razor wire and a quick dash across the road undetected by the security. (chuckling all the way with light's out)).
anyhow set up two rod's both with fresh black's and squid. first cast and after what seem's 18 month or so my first codling in a good while.
not a monster but a codling. next in was davey with one a bit better.
then it was col's turn.
and on my next cast another for me.
not very big but i didnt care as long as they were codling. then col get's another.
And that was it they turned on for about an hour and then stopped. the next fish was a flounder. and not much after.
then after what seemed age's deg's get's a blank saver after dropping one on the wall first cast he get's the only y/ting of the night.
not long after the lad's decide it's time for bed so me and deg's bid our farewell's and stayed another hour. i got a rockling then weed started to show so we called it a night at half two. after a tireing drive home i was in bed for quarter to six then up at 10.00 with the kid's.
a cracking day out and with some of the best lad's ive met. cheer's joe.
