| Has anyone ever used a carp rod for light beach fishing?

| Heard of people using fresh water gear without any problems apart from rust Not sure if a wash with warm soapy water helps after use or if the damage has already been done |

| Should be fine for estuary fishing or close in on a calmer day off the beach. |

| Lived far from the sea as a lad, on annual seaside holiday we used our coarse rods to floatfish off breakwaters and piers as a matter of course - we didn't have any sea gear.
The saltwater thing also applies to the reel if its in use too.

| No probs using carp rods, just the salt. If you think about it,we use carp rods to pull in 30lb to 40lb carp (if we are lucky) |
