| Hi there and welcome, Hopefully you are making plans for the future, Wales is under a stricter lockdown than England and so unfortunately you can't travel here to fish at the moment.
If you put mullet in the search box some old discussions will come up though. |

Sorry I don't really know if they have shown or not, so far as I know the harbour is still closed, whether less activity there means braver mullet I don't know , the only one I've witnessed being caught was before the harbour was remodelled, the guy who caught it did so on the sort of float you buy in a pound shop! I was so excited I fluffed the photo! The biggest Mullet I have seen in Wales is inside Caernarfon Marina - a frequent lunchtime stroll would include staring at several huge ones cruising the pontoons hoping for a sandwich, but it is no fishing inside there at any time anyway, However those Mullet do ocasionally leave rhe harbour but the Straits tide flow adds its own complications. As a teenager I used to see them cruising Holyhead Breakwater but not seen them along the breakwater myself in recent years ( think they now prefer the inner harbour area) My tacklebox includes some artificial bread in case an opportunity arises when normal service is resumed. Mullet fishing is of course one route to madness you realise! Not sure how well the tighter lockdown is understood outside ( or quite possibly inside) Wales |

Probably needs a trip further south to Cornwall ( or book a trip to the Canaries or Med!) We'd love to hear how you get on when circumstances permit. |

| Weymouth is the place I have seen lots and I have seen people fishing for them they are in shoals of 40 or 50 but I would check before going as it's in the marina areas and although I have seen them fishing it might be a problem if someone decides to challenge you. |

| I've seen them at Connah's quay, mainly at the end of the dock nearest to the sea. They are too much of a patience job for me |

| There are usually plenty in the marine lake at West Kirby, if you are allowed to fish there now, I tried floating some bread for them but it turned in to the movie "The Birds" with the seagulls. Saw some council men open a drain sluice at low tide until they had enough mullet for tea. I heard that the mud in there is full of ragworm if they ever drain it. When I was in Ireland, saw some Polish men catching some 6 to 10 pounds with bread dough on some harbour mud. |

| Lots in the harbour at Rhyl this year. They move with the tide so would be worth having a look at the area between the road and railway bridge at different times of the tide. The hang around in the harbour over low water.
Always a few at Mostyn.
Have seen them swimming along the sea wall at Colwyn Bay in the summer and have seen a couple caught off Llandudno Pier in the summer.
Some big ones in the Conwy estuary, try off the marina entrance but you aren't allowed to fish into the marina itself.
Lots of places in the Menai Straits too but not sure how many you are allowed to fish. Port Dinorwig, Menai Bridge pier, around Church Island are the ones that spring to mind.
Further afield, they run along the beach at Pwllheli and in the harbour there too. |
