Good series to watch on BBC iplayer

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/m000d24t/cornwall-this-fishing-life

Lots of pots and crates Laughing

Some decent fish too Wink

I thought it was an interesting incite into many varied issues effecting our UK commercial fishermen/ladies and their communities.

I`ve watched all 6 episodes, it has been interesting to see all the different aspects of fishing. Episode 3 showed small wrasse being caught in pots and sold alive for £17.50 each to be used as cleaner fish in the Scottish salmon farms.

Yes, that was a bit of a head turner at £17.50 for a tiny wrasse sold in Cornwall, which still had to be shipped live to Scotland.

I doubt anyone else will have noticed ... the skipper had clearly invested a lot in his specialist pots for keeping those wrasse alive after capture.

Googling a bit, there is some controversy around the use of wrasse as cleaner fish. In principle it sounds a great solution, but not all agree ...
