Do we ever get any cuttlefish or squid being caught around North and mid wales?
After seeing that octopus,it made me curious.
How about octopus,do we get plenty?
I know some of the beaches in the SW are littered with cuttlefish backbones.I used to get them for the Budgie when I was a kid.
I'm wondering what the summer season will bring, what with global warming and a slight shift in the magnetic north.
After watching the fishing stats on here for a year or two,it seems the fishing is improving.

If that's the case, I'm coming home.
I once walked along the waters edge at Bangor west of the pier, it was a big tide and the end of the pier was nearly dry, found 3 octopus on the sand in a small pool each had dug.

That was when you could get down to the beach there without walking from in the harbour. Used to be a good spot for peeler crabs.

Some people say "I'm only here for the beer"
Sounds like you are only there for the fishing lol!

Ah but then there's the climate, the weather the scenery and we are a long way from anyone else. Of course then there's the fishing!

To answer the original question, I do recall a fishing report a few years back on a former forum ( TSF) about a guy fishing a West Wales pier with his girlfriend and she caught a cuttlefish. I've no idea if this is a rarity but I have noticed more specialist lures in the on line tackle offerings than ever, this might be a marketing thing but the effects of climate change seem pretty undeniable to me and involves winners and losers in the species around us.

I've noticed the ads myself Paul,
I watched a vid the other night on the south coast, they were pulling large squid up off a pier.
I wonder if we don't see them because we don't fish for them?
