PostSubject: A couple of pike sessions   A couple of pike sessions EmptySun Feb 17, 2019 8:12 pm

Over the last 2 weeks I've had a couple of pike session's
on the pond. I've was trying coloured baits for the first
time which I was looking forward to using. bounce bounce

I decided to use one natural bait and one coloured to see
if one got more interest that the other Rock on

Sadly nether of the deadbaits where touched so I put a plug
on for the last hour to see if the pike fancied something moving
but again nothing. Sad

Last Friday after work I was back on the pond with more
coloured and natural deadbaits. cheers

with added oils and even a plug but the pike wasn't having anything
Sad  Sad  this must be the longest I've gone without catching a pike  Shocked  Shocked
hopefully I'll get my touch back soon.  Laughing

You know yourself Steve food goes out the window when there's a bit of fluff floating about and with fish it can take weeks building nests to attract the females and chasing other fish away very time consuming, food who needs food. I love you I love you I love you

You may have chosen the period just before they get the bit between their teeth to start breeding.
I believe the jacks don't bother much, but the big Ladies start feeding up before they breed.
You've had a few out of there in the past,so probably just the wrong time.
Is that water on the right of the dirt road or the left?
I used to race model power boats on the one to the left.
I dived in it years ago,and there wasn't a weed anywhere. The bottom was like talcum powder. It changed later, and the weed grew like mad.
I've fished off the concrete pipe between the reservoirs, some big Perch down deep.
Good luck on your next outing lol!
