With the Otterspool WSF match being cancelled i had to think of a plan B . The options where Otterspool and try and bag a big Cod, the straights, Amlwch or Trearddur Bay obviously I chose the latter. The alarm was set for 6am and I was up like a shot (funny I’m never like that on a work day). It sounded grim outside with the wind still rather blustery and raining. But the bait was bought and I was on a mission and the target species was a Coley. The forecast for the day was a fresh NW winds of 21mph and the swell coming in westerly so Trearddur Bay was going to be touch and go and Amlwch was going to be second choice
Got on the island and all was looking good!!
Got to Trearddur???
All in was called at 8:40 and it all looked very fishable

There was a fair bit of weed about so after a couple of casts I started casting into more sheltered waters
BOOM!!
Target achieved and they gave a good account for themselves
The larger weighing in at 3oz
It’s was a busy bay considering the conditions the RNLI looked like they where doing some training

As the tide tuned I cast back into the deeper waters and rewarded with
Again only small
It was nearly time to pack up
Then some proper tip action and this time it felt like a better fish but couldn’t see it in the white water. Was this going to be a better Coley????
Nice little Bass 1lbs 3oz
Followed by another smaller one shortly after. (Didn’t take a photo)
Target achieved and a pleasant mornings fishing called it a day at 13:30 and didn’t catch a flat fish (just like being at Otterspool)
High was 10:38 and 5.2M
Bass where caught on Rag
Coleys caught on Fresh Lug
