hi all, fished seacombe prom on the Mersey yesterday,a new venue for me.Started fishing on the ebb about three hours before low.First cast resulted in a two pound codling, good start!.Ten minutes later rod was horizontal on the rail, good job I had it secured with a tie, ending up with a better fish of three pound four ozs.Plenty of bites and several very small codling down to low.The flood was very slow except for the best specimen of the day!A 2lb pair of SKIDDIES!!!They put up a very spirited fight but my superior skill subdued them eventually. In fifty odd years of fishing a definite first, and I hope last!!!Cheers.
