I had a couple of days camping near Hells Mouth over the weekend.

With the others not due to arrive until Friday evening, i set off early with my new plugging toys.

I stopped off at Pwllheli for a couple of hours in the hope of a Mackerel or Garfish but there were no signs of action as i walked from the rock to the beach cafe.





On the way back, i noticed a couple of Bass making their way along the beach, about 10 yards out. I followed them for a couple of hundred yards, chucking my plug over and winding it back between them but they werent interested in the slightest!

I made my way back to the rock and headed off to my second mark for the day.

The good news was there were plenty of spaces in the carpark at Hells Mouth so i got myself sorted and set off on the walk to the rocky area in the corner of the bay.



Sadly, it was very shallow, with lots of weed to contend with and even after wading out to waist depth to try and find some deeper water beyond, confidence was decreasing with every cast and the beer was calling.

I tried several spots, all were very shallow, but some were more tricky to get to than others.



I decided to head off and pitch camp and console myself with lots of booze.

I don't wonder why they call that stretch of coast The Welsh Riviera,

You found a great spot,I've wandered round down there and on the way to aberdaron looking for somewhere,but never spotted it.
I've camped all over,the Lizard,Fowey,st Davids etc.Got a great set up,but I'm on hold until I get my bad pin sorted.I've been to Benlech loads of times,a few mackerel on the bbq,and a few lagers,you can't beat it.
