It was all so promising... 12 degrees and a light breeze with plenty sun poking through...for an hour maybe but it clouded over, wind was brisk and cold and the old bit of drizzle.
6 rods out from 10m to 3pm and not even a knock/rattle. We had squid, lug, razor and mackerel, solo or as cocktails. Baits came back completely untouched. Tried down the side with baited sabaki and had a crab pot out for the entire time and nothing in that either.
Called it a day and stopped off for an hour or so to fish the "very low" high tide down the Guinea gap (Mersey), 3 rods this time and a little crab to show, couple of slight knocks which I think we're crabs.
Couple of guys to our left had 3 small dabs between them, one before we arrived and two after. Water was barely covering the lip and lapping at the wall.
Thought the high tide coinciding with the dark would have helped but I will put it down the lack of water ha ha.
Still better being out than in

That`s not good news for species hunting at Amlwch. I know it`s been cold, but that doesn`t usually make the fishing so crap everywhere at the same time.
