PostSubject: Blowing off the Cobwebs    Sun Feb 04, 2018 12:22 pm

The time had come for my first outing of the year so where better to kick off the new season than Talacra fishing

Alarm was set for 05.15
Gear was already packed
I was ready thumbs up

Just for once the forecast was correct and it was to be a glorious fresh morning once the sun came up sunny

Low water was at 08.16 and the big tide was perfect for this venue Very Happy
I arrived in the car park at 06.15 and made my way across the beach without needing my head torch as the light from the moon was so bright Very Happy
First cast was at 06.45 fishing
Within two minutes the rod tip was bouncing around like mad.... Fish on Hooray

Meanwhile I'd set up a second rod with a plain lead and cast it upstream so it could roll along and hopfully pick up any fish it might pass on the way fish
Which it did on almost every chuck cth

The first rod had a grip lead on with a wishbone rig and was cast into the channel towards the green buoy and only once failed to catch anything, the rest of the time it was double headers of Whiting but only single Dabs even when I'd left it out long enough after the first bites appeared for a second fish to bite scratch

It was a perfect morning the sun was up and the fish were biting and I had the whole place to myself Rock on

Some Dabs were on the small side but most were quite plump  fish  flower

Frozen Lug was my main bait although I did try Mackerel which caught Whiting every time  ice

I also got some new waders which I'm hoping will add new depths to my fishing  lol!

bye

Nice session Dave, I love that place when it`s calm and sunny, it always seems to be horizontal rain and sandstorms when I go there. Rolling Eyes
