Lucky is the word Exclamation
The forecast was terrible before and after our session but during the allotted time it couldn't have been better Very Happy
The wind had dropped right off and the rain stayed away apart from a few drops around 9pm thumbs up

The sea conditions were just about perfect too with a nice rolling surf hitting the shore fishing

We had a good turn out of members and from the first cast to the last everyone was getting Whiting and Dabs fish fish

Except me, I had a tiny Dab on my first cast and had nothing for the next 3hrs until my last cast when I caught a tiny Whiting Embarassed rolling laugh

Least I didn't blank  lol!

It was a thoroughly enjoyable night and a great laugh was had by all   Rock on
Many thanks to all who came along and in several cases travelling a long way to get there despite the weather forecast  Hooray

Walking Prestatyn beach in the morning I feared the conditions were going to be too heavy but the forecast window of opportunity came true ( anybody would think we planned it that way)

Thanks to all those who made it to the meet, I know some of you had a fair old journey.

I used a one down one up with mackerel on the top and squid tipped frozen lug on the bottom and had 8/9 whiting and a couple of dabs.

In Dave's 4th pic you can see my last whiting along with two half digested fry it coughed up on my seat box.

My pics aren't anywhere near as good as Dave's but I'll add them

A great night, nice to meet some more members and having fished far too little this year it was great to catch and to see everyone else catch too!

Good to see all that turned up.  Was an eventful evening for me but went home having caught some fish even if they were whiting.

Walking the hound along the flyde coast earlier in the day the weather didn't look promising.  But set off at 4 the weather God's looked like they were going to favour the Sunnyrhyl Christmas meet, sky's started to clear, wind dropped and temperature picked up.

I arrived just before 6 with attendees already set up.  Collected my t-shirt and hoodie from Dave, only 2yrs in the making, cheers Dave.

First four casts 3 Whiting in the bag. All caught on rag and squid.  All went back to give Dave a chance.  Rod made a right good bounce and as I retrieved my line became very loose, which some how ended with my whole rig missing scratch scratch

New rig on, baited and back out to sea.  Unfortunately no more fish for me.  Don't no how I managed it but ended the evening with a right nest just above my rig. That was time to call it a night, took rig off and decided to cut the nest out, must remember to tie a new leader on before next outing.

All in all great evening out.

Photo's haven't turned out very good but will try posting them later off the laptop.

All the best for the New Year folks and wish you all a fishtastic 2018

bye party
