Bait availability permitting, I'm very interested guys...

Which part of the beach do you intend to fish?

(And please, nobody say the bit next to the sea! Rolling Eyes )

The East side , so over the bridge at the railway station and drive down the ramp on to the beach parking is the usual routine.

Anyone in a tall van should just check they can clear the height barrier.

Top end of the beach is compacted pebbles and two wheel drive is really no worry at all just go steady and watch out for the odd pothole or larger rock

Keep off the looser stuff banked up about 40 yards ( ish) from the top side because nearer the water the pebbles are loose and you'll be fine. If anyone did stray on to the loose stuff we'd soon push them back off it.

We normally use this location for meets as it is accessible.

There was a planning application to start charging to park on the beach but I don't know how far this has got.

Once you are there it's not quite an ideal fish from the car location but you could with the aid of a tip light and for 10p a time Dave will change your bait for you.

BBC weather gives Saturday's strong S/W winds earlier in the day dropping just in time for our meet up.

A S/W isn't the worst wind direction for that beach either What a Face

have done their job, the upside is I`ve got loads to drink for New Year. Very Happy

Hi Dave, I will not make it today I have gone down with a heavy cold and a two hundred mile journey with the prospects of a cold windy beach don't appeal to much just now. Left it till the last minute to make my mind up. I had no intention of fishing I was just going to drive up take Noreen for a bite to eat do a bit of shopping and come and see you all which I was looking forward to, which is what I have done in previous years. Never mind best layed plans and all that I will try and catch up with you all next year.
I hope you all have a great New Year and enjoy yourselves tonight, I will be hugging the hot water bottle and fondling the tissues.
Jim. Sad
