I personally have no problem with releasing all the Bass I catch but first of all I have to catch them and that is few and far between in all the years I have been fishing I could count on two hands the number of Bass I have caught and I can only remember taking one home for the table. On the other hand a trawler can go out every day and come home with tons of them and anything undersized they throw back dead after drowning them in the nets. I find it very difficult to understand where the people who make these rules are coming from or what book or reports they have been reading. confused

Signed it.

Happy to see most go back but the asymmetry of the tonnage for commercial landing is a total madness

I've signed it.

At least well be in control of our own waters by March 2019

"in July 2017, Michael Gove said Britain was “taking back control” of its fisheries by departing from the EU common fisheries policy, which lets member states fish between 12 and 200 nautical miles off the UK’s coastline.

He also announced the UK’s withdrawal from the London fisheries convention, signed before the UK joined the EU, which lets vessels from the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands fish within between six and 12 nautical miles of each other’s coasts.

But the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) said the plan had always been to allow other nations some access to UK territorial waters after Brexit, and that the extent of this could now be decided by the UK."

I think my hooks have had that notice on for some years now! I signed the petition anyway.
