Same canal in Stockport Steve? Those rigs look like they work. I've sent for some weedless hooks so I can make my own rigs up. I've had a theory for a while now that the bigger Perch very rarely take maggots etc. There's always plenty of small perch,so there has got to be some big ones. Nice to get out there, great pics.

Definitely Dan size fish kev Glad you enjoyed your gin paul Yeah it was Romiley canal again Stan the bigger perch have probably been caught that many times on maggots that they have got wise to them and its probably the same with pike so this is why i'm using lures they have never seen before. Thanks Dave you paint a wonderful picture of my work The big comfy chair and office is right but I wish the rest was right

My problem Steve is I can't wander on the canal,I have to set my chair up. Might waggler fish and use the LRF rod for spinning. I've fished the Medlock a few times,I don't usually blank. I catch minnows on a 16/18's hook and put them in an aerated bucket, then stick them on a 10's hook and trot them down under a float. I've had 2lb brownies and a couple of 4lb 'ish chub. They hammer live minnows. I've fished the basin on the canal at Whaley bridge, dead easy access, some big perch in there. The river Goyt is only 20yds away,I've trotted a float with maggot a few times and had loads of small brownies.
