Ten pound bass....
Well it was in there somewhere
The session on Wednesday evening at Drigg in the western lakes started off bad and slowly got worse
To start with there was a strong on shore wind, forecast said gusts of 20mph but it felt stronger on my light gear....
I only had my light fishing gear with me as it was still in the car from Monday's Maccy bashing session in Old Colwyn
First cast into the wind went well but on retrieval I lost my only 3oz grip lead so it was down to the 2oz grip lead to hold in the surf
(Amazingly it did)
Second cast I had a bird's nest
I put my spare reel on then discovered the tip of the rod had snapped
With no other choice I had to use the second eye as the tip
Had another cast which went well all things considered until a wave came over the top of my wellies and soaked my feet
That was it for me, beer and curry time
As I squelched and sloshed off the beach back to the car I couldn't help but laugh at the catalogue of disaster that had befallen me
As for the Bass he's still out there waiting for me
