Decided to have some R&R on Monday afternoon, which meant some well earned fishing time. With a possible relocation to the Flyde coast on the cards I decided to test the water.
Having visited the local tackle shops on a number of occasions a gave them a call to see if anything was being caught. Half expecting contradicting views they both said the same, sole, bass, doggies, huss all being caught over the weekend. So game on.
Just over an hour laterals at Bispham Angling to puck up bait and some rigs as my rigs were looking a little rusty.
High tide at 6 was set up and ready by 3:30. Conditions were a little windy with south easterly wind, but clear sky's. Set up 2 rods 11' surf and 15' beach. The wind started to become a problem for the surf rod after an hr with my pulley rig ending up back on the beach. So with the bait untouched decided to reel it in and concentrate on the 1 rod. For the best part of 3hrs my bait was attacked by crabs even hanging on for every last scrap of bait. these we're hard core crabs give the state of the surf.
Not sure if it's a good thing to be shouting about catching crabs
.
Well 6.45ish decided to call it a day even the beach rod was now struggling with the surf and holding bottom. Plenty of other brave souls braving the wind but didn't appear to be catching.
