Fished the wooden walkway by the side of the river where it opens out to the sea for 4hrs last night at Amble. Had lots of good bites and caught a very nice Flounder which ended up come home with me after it swallowed about 5 inches of my snood. Great spot car park at the end of the walk so can fish out of the boot if you don't want to walk. Sorry no pictures but I've not got a phone that takes pictures and no camera with me. fishing fish

That's spooky - I will be only a few miles away from there in a couple of weeks - kids will be racing at Druridge. I am now thinking "travel rod" Laughing

It is nice spot if you get the chance. The Angling Centre is about 500yards from the car park open every day except Wednesday. If you want a help with finding the car park just ask I will be happy to help. The only problem is that the boats come past to get to the harbour which means you have reel in or chance loosing your tackle, but not many 3 or 4 in 4 hours. thumbs up

I'm not knocking it Dave that's a great day out for me, a Crab and I'm happy a fish is a real achievement, that Flounder will be the talking point in every pub I visit in Stafford for the next month. Very Happy

Seeing as you asked - the national (England & Wales) finals of junior inter-club orienteering. Something called the Yvette Baker Trophy. They will be running and navigating across the sand dunes.

Daughter also had national (England) finals of junior inter-county badminton a few weeks back.  Kids activities are the main reason why I don't get to fish much, but a few trips are planned over the next couple of months.

Sounds like your kids are pretty fit,my calf muscles ache just at the thought of running on sand dunes,Haha.
I've got a mate that bought two cottages at Keilda a couple of years ago,he plans to retire up there next year.
He's knocked the two cottages into one.The fishing is spot on,he's got a river that runs close by that is part of the deal.I've never fly fished, but I'll be giving it a try.
Hope your kids do well,"V"
