Mehmet had a couple of dozen soft crab given to him at the weekend, and passed them on to me as he was working all week. I passed on going yesterday in the rain, but this afternoon was a different matter. I got to Greenfield about 3 hours before high water and had to wait half an hour for some water to fish in. As soon as it started to flood I put one out into the shallow water over the bank and had a bite straight away, missed the sod! the next 3 casts were the same, baits pulled down the hooks and no fish, I decided they were little eels, I hope so anyway I don`t mind not catching them. As the water got deeper I managed a small flounder and a little plaice target species ticked off, but then it went quiet for an hour or more. The guy on the next peg was doing worse than me, I think he starved to death. Just before high there was a flurry of bites and two more flounder and a plaice turned up in three casts, one of the flounder took two hooks at once As the tide picked up on the ebb another mad half hour saw two more flounders and this cracker of 1lb. 13oz. that came home for tea

Nice to see Greenfield is fishing ok,last couple of times I went every bait was taken by the crabs. Can't get down the rocks these days, last time I fell on my rod and bent it. Shame really,it's handy access.

Interesting Terry well done on the fish. I have found a couple of dead stoats in our orchard over the years, unmarked and no poison I know of. Had one taxidermed? and is on the mantlepiece
