Had a short session this morning 10am to 1pm over high at Pensarn (Next to Pipe) with Phil the bill and one other. Sea flat for most of the time with a chilly North Easterly breeze. Fishing very slow to say the least although i did personally avoid a blank with a couple of small dabs. Bait being fresh blacks. Few others fishing do not know if they had more luck.

Well done and thanks for the report it's good to know what is going on locally Poor old Pensarn doesn't seem to fish as Well as it used too which in my opinion is down to two things: 1. It's been netted so much the surviving fish have learnt the lesson and cleared off. 2. The pipes don't spill muck into the sea anymore so there isn't as much food about for the fish. Just a theory !

I think the bloom has started which doesn't help.

When you take into consideration how much visibility the bloom restricts, the fish that hunt on sight are less likely to find your bait.A good scent trail is probably the best bet. Divers at Prestatyn a couple of years ago said the visiblity was down to about 2ft,and the deeper they went it became darker because of the density of the bloom. Like Logger said, netting doesn't help, most of the shore fishing venues are on sand, which is easily netted. Rocky bottoms restrict netting, maybe an idea to fish them. Just a theory
