Took the boat this afternoon, fished 2 hours either side of high tide, F3 South Westerly the waves were no higher than 1 meter, the fishing was a bit slow today, 15 in total with 4 different species, a couple of Doggies, Dabs and plaice the rest were all whiting. 1 mile off shore from Rhyl harbour. Enjoyed the afternoon sun bouncing around on the sea

Nice of you to put the location up,be handy when I have a go.
How do you get out and in of Rhyl harbour?
What's the average tidal window?
My boat only has a shallow draft,(about 2ft)
I've never put out in my own boat before, always been taken out in my mates boats, and never out of Rhyl.
Been out of Prestatyn,Conway,Beaumaris,Gryn Goch near Trefor,Pwilheli and around St Tudwal's islands. We camped at St Davids and fished there one year, the next year we went to Fowey.
At nearly 72yrs I have got a bit old to keep up,so I got my own boat so I can go at my own pace.
Any advice on Rhyl harbour would be handy.
I would have to launch and park on each occasion.
I've tried to get some info, but it's a bit sketchy.
If I register at Rhyl harbour office, does it cover me for Anglesey etc?

That's a lot of questions, here we go:- To get out of Rhyl harbour you keep left of the red perches in a channel and follow the perches to the very end before going off any direction as between the perches on the right is a wall and on the left there are sand bars and shallow water.
The tidal window is 2&1/2 hours before high tide and 2 after to be on the safe side or if you want to go out for 10 or 12 hours you can go out on the ebb and come back in on the flood.
The 2ft draft is good, I have a 3ft draft, stick to the times above and you will not have a problem.
Rhyl does have a good slip for launching, there is a fee
Rhyl Harbour Slipway Registration (all power Craft)                                                             £20
Launching Permits                                                            Resident   Non resident Daily self launch                                                                                   £15           £20 Weekly self launch                                                                                   £35           £40 Annual self launch                                                                                   £90         £100 Tractor launch & recovery                                                                                £20           £25

This is the link for all the facilities at Rhyl harbour:- https://www.denbighshire.gov.uk/en/visitor/places-to-visit/rhyl-harbour.aspx

You have to have boat insurance what ever option you choose to launch from Rhyl.
The car park is free in the harbour with plenty of room to leave a trailer at the top of the slipway.
The fees are for Rhyl Harbour only and do not include Anglesey. I hope this information is of some use you, happy boating.

Thanks,I really appreciate the info.I wasn't sure about the parking at the slip, that's a weight of my mind.I've got a wonky foot,so walking any distance is a problem.
I'll be insuring the boat,so no probs.I've had a look at the slip,I should be able to launch with my car.If not,I'll rope launch it from higher up the slip. The car is only 2 wheel drive, but it's a Golf deisel estate, which is fairly heavy.
Thanks for taking the time to give me the info,it's much appreciated.
Might see you down there later in the year.
Thanks again.
