fished prestatyn sailing club 3 hours before low& 3 hours after low water.only had frozen lug and squid fished one rod with three hook rig first ten min had dab which was pan size oh its going to be a good day! no more bites fore next 3 hours ,2 more bites but no fish.the water was like mill pond.there was one other person fishing there same time as me he had fresh lug & rag and he hadnt had a bite all day.on the way back to my car an old chap asked how i had got on as he had fished high water and had 15 dabs on lug. he said i was fishing the wrong part of the beach as i should walked 800 yards towards mostyn. theres always next time

I always find a fish on the first cast is a bad sign but not as bad as no fish

I've got a mate that's a member at the prestatyn boat club,they fish Barkby beach a bit further up than the club (towards Mostyn) They have had some nice fish out. They leave the boats in and beach fish for a change sometimes.

It's worth walking along the coastal path to look down on the beach and pick a good spot that will hold fish on the flood
