Tales of The Unexpected Empty
PostSubject: Tales of The Unexpected    Tales of The Unexpected EmptyWed Dec 28, 2016 11:19 am

Had a great day on the Mersey yesterday aboard Suveran skippered by Simon Parry of Jensen Sea Angling Charters even though it came as a surprise, I'd booked the trip over a year ago then forgotten all about it until Simon called on Christmas Eve to remind me  Exclamation

Tales of The Unexpected Giphy11

Had to get a crew together quick so most of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and Boxing Day was spent getting in touch with as many people as possible who I knew liked boat fishing, not an easy task over Christmas when it's such short notice and everyone has plans study

Most couldn't make it affraid
One in particular who I know I could have relied on straight away had back trouble on his last trip so it wouldn't have been fair to ask Sad

Dan was a star Like a Star @ heaven and rallied to the cause along with his brother and his mate Jay cheers
I'd got three friends to come along as well and I press ganged Ade into coming by applying pressure to a certain pressure point which came in the form of his wife who just so happens to be my sister thumbs up

This gave us 8 crew which was great and meant I could relax for the first time this holiday then I heard from Simon who had also managed to recruit a couple of lads to our growing band of brothers thumbs up

Unfortunately Dan's brother had to drop out last minute due to illness as did one of my mates so we were back to 8 which to be honest is the right number for a Mersey trip as any more just encourages tangles as the tide rips through like a train once it turns Exclamation

In the end everything turned out great and we had a fantastic trip catching over 40 Cod, bags of decent Whiting, a few Dabs and one Ray which should have been mine but Dan stole it from me when the fish mistook his bait for mine and jumped on his hook instead  Exclamation

We launched at 11am and didnt return till....

And we had a great laugh for the entire trip  cheers
