Penmon 29/10

Quick report - planned on a wales session last Saturday, brother didn't want to travel so far and then decided he wasn't bothering and it was then too late to travel so ended up in Blackpool again as its close, left just before dark, one doggie and a huge whiting....


Read reports it went mental as soon as the sun dropped so went back Sunday evening and it was doggie and whiting madness! Rod didn't stop bouncing, double headers etc.

Today set off late and fished Penmon down to low, only had the one doggie. Used lug and rag. Fished the steep shingle beach, surprised as I didn't get snagged once. The reason I haven't fished it before is I thought it would be a tackle graveyard but will defo try it again and at night. Had quite a few knocks and almost caught a Labrador who was after my doggie. Missed a few good knocks as littlun decided he was rockpooling and my attention was on him as it was really slippy. One other guy blanked and a fella turned up at dusk on the lures so hopefully he caught.
Off to Otterspool Prom tomorrow in search of a cod or 10...still got quite a bit of bait left. Good news is my littlun now has his own single head tripod, £12 from Malc's and his own mini setup and is now asking me when we are we going fishing again!

A bit of info for Simon, I was at Penmon late October with the big tides, and went for a look at low in a stiff NWer, the water in the W corner was very dirty, so it must be sand below the large stones. I was also looking at the point just inside the quarry fence, but both places were very exposed that day.
