I've got a good set of Doel fins for my 18hp Evinrude engine,I've not had the boat in the water yet.
I can't decide whether to put the fins on for it's first trip out,or to try it without and fit them later.
The boat is a 14ft open family speedboat with a decent freeboard and beam.
The only thing in it are the two seats, and it is quite light in weight.
Anybody had any experience of using Doel fins?

I've heard they get you out of the hole quicker(on the plane)
and enable you to plane at a lower speed.
