Terry and I headed to Pwllheli yesterday for a crack at the Bream and Garfish.
We found a space between the idiots and mackerel bashers and sent special baits on special rigs towards the horizon. Sadly, Terrys wasn’t attached to his reel anymore.
It was second cast before I managed my target today, or half of it in the shape of this little Black Bream.
It Remained quiet, even on my Garfish rig, which I thought would pick up the occasional mackerel as it drifted in the tide about 30 yards out.
Some of the idiots trying to drown their kids/dogs went home, so we moved to our original target location and were rewarded with better numbers and variety of fish straight away.
I had more Bream, while Terry had a Dab, then a Dragonette, before finding a Bream of his own. He then added a couple of Mackeral, and I had one on feathers as the Garfish rig disintergrated mid cast.
I found a Dan sized Dragonette, then got one slightly bigger later on.
We finally ended with me on 5 Bream, 2 Dragonettes and a Mackeral.
Terry ended on 3 Dabs, 2 Mackeral, 2 Dragonettes, a Bream and a small Plaice after a final flourish in the last hour.
We may be back when all the grockels have gone home and the kids have got homework to do instead of swimming between fishing rods.
Some more photos when everyone else had gone. Dramatic skies too!
