PostSubject: Is it Reely Goodbye !   Thu Aug 11, 2016 7:01 pm

After being in the Lake District for almost three years I've run out of tree's so I'm going further north, Peebles to be exact which is miles away from the sea Neutral

I've been spoilt working so close to the coast all this time and i'm going to be really sorry to leave, I've come to love this area and made some good friends too I love you

As this is my last night here I thought it would be rude not to have one last session at Drigg Scar fishing

There was a lovely surf on but again weed was a problem Rolling Eyes

Five minutes into the first cast the rod was bouncing with all the weed my three hook flapper had collected so I reeled in whilst I still could and to my surprise there was a nice little Codling hanging onto my bottom hook cth

After a photo he went back then on my 2nd cast the weed dragged me into some rocks and I lost the lot Embarassed

Third cast was just a simple one hook snood coming off the wieght in an effort to hook less weed which worked when in came Codling number two cheers

This was promising to be a very nice session and there was still half hour to go before high Rock on

Then disaster struck Sad

The end of my spool broke off as I was retrieving yet more weed Shocked

I had a spare reel in the car but it's far to light to use in this sea silent

So there it was my final session in Cumbria all over Sad
Ive had worse trips though and I hope I'll be back one day as I really have fallen in love with this place  Cool

bye

Shame on the reel but great result on the Codling.

Time to treat yourself on the reel front!

I'm sure you'll find some piscatorial action in Peebles, the name means temporary settlement but you'll be a gutterbluid in no time and the town symbol is three Salmon so you've something to aim for on your species count. ( yes I did look Peebles up on Wikipedia! )
