You wouldn't need to see the float,it would be just a means of keeping you out there longer and at the desired depth.

You would soon feel the bites.
Saves casting and dragging in every few minutes.
You could have a chance of other species higher up in the water column.(Bass)
I tried it at Llandulas car park on the incoming and outgoing,it kept my end tackle above the rocks.(under the A55)

Floats have a decent weight on them,and you could add a small weight under your feathers,you could cast easily.

I used this method on holiday in Dubai and had lots of success with the Garfish, casting any distance was awkward though as the whole lot wanted to spin and tangle Exclamation
