just our luck

the weather forecast for Trevor was 7 mph till 11-00am and then up to 14 mph so we decided to give it a go. we made our way to the tope mark put out the big baits and set up the shrimp rigs for a bit of sport and maybe a few mackerel. we had a couple of doggies on the big baits and dabs and whiting on the shrimp rigs.after a hour or so it started to get a bit choppy but not to bad. i put one of the dabs on the tope rig hooked through the tail and had a 7 to 8 pound huss then bill had the first tope followed by another a bit bigger. by this time i had put on a fresh dab and had a really good tope run but never managed to set the hook. by now it was around 11-00 am and the wind was getting a lot stronger and the swells a lot bigger so we decided to head back in. pity as the tope had just started to come on the feed but thats fishing

all back safe and ready for the next trip and hopefully get my first tope of the year as always a great day out with great company

Cut short maybe but fish to the boat can't be bad!
