| Took my first few days holiday of the year to spend some time with the family (oh and fish !!). After 2 wet days camping at Shell Island it was time to fish ! First off a really damp session at Otterspool after a nice plump spring codling, they didn't show up but I got a nice plump whiting instead, weighing in at 1lb 1oz !! I ended up with 2 small dabs and about 4/5 more whiting ! Next night I couldn't decide where to fish, so just opted to fish Llandudno Pier, even though it hadn't been fishing well. I had the whole pier to myself and the doggies kept me busy all night long, I ended up with 9 and also 3 small codling. Even getting the obligatory 2 doggies on a pennel pulley ! The biggest doggie coming in at 2lb 1oz I was hoping for a bull huss, so I popped out a whole squid in the hope. Something nearly wrenched my rod off the rails and then took me straight into a snag only for my rig (&leader) never to see daylight again...... No idea what it was but there are quite a few conger around the pier ! Next time |

I told you. It is only a matter of time before it is caught or someone gets pulled in trying. |
