Being a lure angler, I use a Shimano Yasei rod with Shimano exage reel, or if i'm in America I take my Savage Gear Roadrunner XLNT2 with Shimano nexave reel.
Both rods are 7 foot in length, light with a fast action and will punch out both light soft plastics aswell as heavier plugs. They both also have some backbone and will handle hard fighting fish if the need arises. Not much difference in the reels really, both quality reels from Shimano.
I'd recommend both rods and reels to anyone who fancies a go at lure fishing. Very Happy

What sort of action do these rods have mate Question
(doing a lot of lure fishing myself I like a nice fast action light rod) Very Happy

I was just editing my post when you posted, I forgot to add that bit. Both are fast action and extremely light. Here's a review on the roadrunner, a four piece travel rod. The Yasei is very similar, but two piece.

I like my 15' Shakespeare salt it's great for whacking out a bait a long way and keeping the line above the surf but reeling it back in is hard work even with a small fish on compared to my 12' rods where you can just wind in, you really have to use the rod to pull the weight back in Exclamation
Can be hard work fishing

No buyers remorse on my Century tip tornado LD

You can never have enough rods and reels though!
